How the compatible Genetec Synergis (reader-agnostic; DESFire via STid) works
The Genetec Synergis (reader-agnostic; DESFire via STid) is a 13.56 MHz high-frequency contactless credential read over the ISO/IEC 14443 air interface. Its data structure is Software/controller layer that encodes MIFARE DESFire with customer AES keys (via STid SSCP/OSDP) or rides HID/partner credentials; no Genetec-proprietary credential. When you present a credential, the reader decodes that exact structure and passes it to your access-control panel as a card number it recognises.
Because the Genetec Synergis (reader-agnostic; DESFire via STid) is a secured smart credential, it is designed so the encryption keys stay under your control.
