How the compatible Paxton Net2 / Switch2 token (Hitag2) works
The Paxton Net2 / Switch2 token (Hitag2) is a 125 kHz low-frequency proximity credential — the band most legacy prox readers use. Its data structure is Paxton-proprietary Hitag2 with password authentication (token<->reader password exchange); readers separately license-activatable for HID Prox + EM4100. When you present a credential, the reader decodes that exact structure and passes it to your access-control panel as a card number it recognises.
As a programmable blank, the Paxton Net2 / Switch2 token (Hitag2) is the raw material the rest of the catalogue is built on. We supply it factory-fresh and rewritable on the Genuine NXP HITAG 2 / T5577 platform, so you — or we — can encode it to emulate the proximity format your readers expect. It is the backbone of every 125 kHz compatible credential we ship.
The Paxton Access format sits among the specialist proximity credentials most card vendors never tooled up to produce — which is why the only other source is usually the original manufacturer, at a steep premium. Supporting these hard-to-find formats is exactly what Security ID Systems specialises in. Tell us the format printed on your card, or send a sample for us to read, and we confirm compatibility before you order.
