How the compatible DESFire EV3 2K (STID 8870) works
The NXP DESFire EV3 2K (STID 8870) is a 13.56 MHz high-frequency contactless credential read over the ISO/IEC 14443 air interface. Its data structure is ISO 14443A; AES-128, customer-owned keys, multi-application. When you present a credential, the reader decodes that exact structure and passes it to your access-control panel as a card number it recognises.
